Meet Tatum
Born and raised in Michigan, Tatum is an illustrator, muralist, and artist based in Clinton Township. Graduated from College of Creative Studies in 2022, she has since worked on murals/public art for notable clients such as Detroit Institute of Arts’ Partners in Public Art (PIPA) Program, the City of Ann Arbor and A2AC, Sterling Heights Public Library, and a number of independent businesses and private residents across Michigan as well. Along with murals, she takes on commissioned illustration work in publishing, editorial, and fine art, and even works as both a high school and private art teacher.
A core belief of Tatum’s is that art is meant to facilitate connect above all else. A story or message is shared and should impact all who interact with it powerfully, colorfully, and boldly. Tatum believes that the world is meant to feel bright and welcoming, and art is the greatest tool to have it so.
When Tatum isn’t found painting a wall, sketching on a pad of paper, or drawing on her tablet, she is spending time with her husband, family, and friends. Blueberry muffins and cinnamon rolls are her top guilty pleasures, and if she were to be reincarnated one day she’s positive it would be as a duck.
